Description

The NVIDIA ConnectX-7 2x200G network adapter is a dual-port 200Gb/s RDMA card for PCIe Gen5 servers, supporting both Ethernet and InfiniBand. This crypto-enabled variant for the Cisco UCS AI M8 platform is aimed at AI and machine learning training and inference clusters, HPC and scientific computing, and secure north-south data-centre networking on dense-GPU servers such as the UCS C880A M8.

It provides 2 x 200Gb/s QSFP112 ports with up to 400Gb/s of total bandwidth. Ethernet runs at 200, 100, 50, 25 and 10GbE, with the lower speeds available through QSFP-to-SFP adapter modules. InfiniBand runs at NDR200, HDR 200 and EDR 100. Ethernet mode is the default, and InfiniBand mode needs a configuration change. The card uses an HHHL form factor on a PCIe Gen5 host interface of up to 32 lanes. Crypto capability, including block-level XTS-AES encryption, is built into this SKU, so no separate licence or subscription is needed.

The UCS C880A M8 provides four PCIe Gen5 x16 FHHL slots for north-south networking. Cisco QSFP-100G-AOC, QSFP-100G-CU and QSFP-100G-LR4-S optics and cables are listed for the ConnectX-7 2x200G.

FAQs

Q: Does this card need a licence or subscription for encryption?
A: No. The crypto capability is built into this crypto-enabled SKU, so no separate licence or subscription is required.

Q: Does it run Ethernet or InfiniBand out of the box?
A: Ethernet is the default mode. InfiniBand mode needs a configuration change as described in the NVIDIA ConnectX-7 user manual.

Q: Which optics and cables work with this card?
A: Cisco QSFP-100G-AOC (5, 7 and 10m), QSFP-100G-CU (3 and 5m) and QSFP-100G-LR4-S are listed for the ConnectX-7 2x200G. Check the Cisco Hardware Compatibility List for your server.

Q: Which server is it designed for?
A: It is ordered with the Cisco UCS C880A M8 rack server, which has four PCIe Gen5 x16 FHHL slots for north-south networking.

Q: Can it connect to 10G, 25G or 50G networks?
A: Yes. Ethernet speeds of 200, 100, 50, 25 and 10GbE are supported, with the lower speeds delivered through QSFP-to-SFP adapter modules.
