Description

This 3.84TB PCIe Gen5 x4 NVMe SSD in the E1.S 15mm form factor is a data-cache drive for the Cisco UCS C880A M8 AI rack server. It is the FIPS-capable self-encrypting variant of the Micron 9550 PRO, built for AI and machine learning workloads that need encrypted, high-throughput local storage on an NVIDIA GPU, 6th Gen Intel Xeon platform.

The drive delivers up to 14,000 MB/s sequential read and 10,000 MB/s sequential write, with up to 3,300 KIOPS random 4KB read and 720 KIOPS random 4KB write. It is a read-intensive 1 DWPD model with 7,008 TB of endurance on 4K random writes and 29,400 TB on 128K sequential writes. Typical queue-depth-1 latency is 60 us for reads and 10 us for writes. Security covers TCG Opal 2.02 self-encryption, FIPS 140-3 Level 2 certifiable operation and digitally signed firmware. This SKU uses a 512-byte sector size.

The UCS C880A M8 accepts up to eight PCIe Gen5 x4 E1.S NVMe SSDs as data cache alongside two M.2 SATA boot drives. Larger capacities in the same FIPS SED family are available as UCSAI-NVES7T6M1VE= (7.68TB) and UCSAI-NVES15TM1VE= (15.36TB).
