Description

This is an 18TB 3.5-inch large form factor hard drive for Cisco UCS rack servers. It is built for high-capacity secure storage, where large volumes of data need to sit on spinning disk in a UCS C-Series style chassis.

The drive uses a 12Gb/s SAS interface and spins at 7.2K RPM, using a 4K sector format. It is a self-encrypting drive (SED) with FIPS validation, so data at rest can be protected by drive-level hardware encryption without relying on host CPU resources. The capacity, interface, speed, sector format and SED-FIPS encryption are what set this SKU apart from other UCS hard drive options.

It is designed for Cisco UCS C-Series rack servers with 3.5-inch LFF drive bays, making it a fit for capacity-focused and security-conscious deployments.
