Description

This 14TB 3.5-inch large form factor SAS hard drive is part of the Cisco UCS C-Series rack server drive portfolio. It is a Western Digital sourced, front-load, hot-pluggable drive that ships mounted in a server sled, built for capacity-oriented workloads such as bulk storage, backup and archive.

The drive runs a 12Gb/s SAS interface at 7.2K RPM and uses a 4K sector size. As a front-load variant it is listed as an orderable front-facing drive for the Cisco UCS C240 M8 LFF rack server, where it is driven by the Cisco 24G Tri-Mode M1 RAID controller or the 24G Tri-Mode M1 HBA, which support up to 16 LFF SAS hard drives.

All RAID options require drives of the same sector size and media type, so match this 4K sector WD drive with like drives in an array. A separate mid-plane variant exists under a different part number, so confirm the mounting position before ordering.
