Description

The NCS 540 N540X-8Z16G-SYS-D is a compact 1RU, industrial-temperature, conformal-coated cell-site and access router running Cisco IOS XR. It is built for cell-site routing and 5G mobile backhaul, plus wireline access and aggregation in harsh or outdoor-cabinet environments where industrial temperature range and conformal coating matter.

This Dual-DC variant provides 8x 1/10GE SFP+ ports, 4x 1GE SFP ports and 4x 1GE RJ45 ports, along with a port group that supports 8x 1GE SFP or 16x 1GE cSFP. Forwarding performance reaches up to 125 Mpps, backed by a 4-core 2GHz CPU, 8 GB DRAM and 16 GB eMMC storage. Power is supplied by 1+1 fixed redundant DC supplies, with fixed 3+1 redundant fans and side-to-side airflow. It supports a -40°C to +65°C operating range up to 1800 m, and Class C timing with SyncE and PTP.

The chassis mounts in 19 inch, 23 inch or ETSI racks using the DC rackmount kits N540-RCKMT-19-ACD, N540-RCKMT-23-ACD and N540-RKMT-ETSI-ACD. First supported software is IOS XR 7.3.1, and optional Access Essentials and Access Advantage licences are available for the platform.

A: The -D in N540X-8Z16G-SYS-D is the Dual-DC variant with 1+1 fixed redundant DC power supplies. The -A variant is the AC version of the same chassis.
