Description

The Cisco NCS 540 N540X-16Z8Q2C-D is a 1RU, temperature-hardened service provider router from the Network Convergence System 540 medium density range. It is built for converged access and aggregation in 5G mobile backhaul, mobile broadband, IoT, and business and residential services, and suits indoor or outdoor cabinets and telecom sites that need DC power and precise timing.

This DC variant provides 16 x 1GE/10GE SFP+ ports, 8 x 1GE/10GE/25GE SFP28 ports and 2 x 40GE/100GE QSFP28 uplink ports, with no 1G copper ports. Forwarding performance reaches up to 300 Mpps, backed by an 8-core 1.7GHz x86 CPU, 8GB DRAM and 32GB storage. It has fixed dual redundant DC power supplies with a -40V to -72V DC input, a modular redundant fan tray and an industrial temperature range of -40°C to +70°C. Timing support includes SyncE, PTP and an internal GNSS receiver.

The router runs Cisco IOS XR. Feature licences are sold as per-10G Access Essentials and Access Advantage tiers, so confirm the exact tier for your deployment. The fan tray is N540-X-BB-FAN, and DC rack mounts include N540-RCKMT-19-EGD, N540-RCKMT-23-EGD and N540-RKMT-ETSI-EGD.
