Description

The NCS 540 N540X-12Z16G-SYS-D is a 1RU, temperature-hardened, low-power router built for service provider access and aggregation. It runs Cisco IOS XR and suits mobile backhaul (5G), business and residential services, and indoor or outdoor cabinets that need a small-depth router with precise frequency and phase timing.

This DC-powered, conformal-coated variant provides 12x 1GE SFP ports, 12x 1GE/10GE SFP+ ports and 4x 10/100/1000 RJ-45 copper ports. It delivers up to 160 Mpps forwarding performance on a 4-core 1.6GHz x86 CPU with 8GB DRAM and 32GB storage. Fixed dual redundant DC power supplies accept -40V to -72V input, and fixed redundant fans give side-to-side airflow. The chassis is rated for -40C to +70C operation at 1,000 ft.

Integrated timing support covers SyncE, PTP and an internal GNSS receiver. Rackmount options for the DC variant include N540-RCKMT-19-ACD, N540-RCKMT-23-ACD and N540-RKMT-ETSI-ACD.
