Description

The NCS 540 N540X-12Z16G is a compact 1RU edge and aggregation router for mobile backhaul, metro access and timing-sensitive 5G and RAN transport. It is environmentally hardened for indoor or outdoor cabinet deployments, with a depth under 300mm and side-to-side airflow.

This AC bundle provides 12x 1GE/10GE SFP/SFP+ ports, 12x 1GE SFP ports and 4x 1GE RJ-45 (10/100M) ports, with forwarding performance up to 160 Mpps. It is powered by a 4-core 1.6GHz x86 CPU with 8GB DRAM and 32GB storage, and fed from a fixed single AC power supply (90-265V AC, 50-60 Hz). Timing support includes SyncE with ESMC and IEEE 1588-2008 PTP, with G.8273.2 Class B/C support and an industrial operating range of -40C to +70C.

The 1GE/10GE ports accept 1G and 10G SFP/SFP+ optics, and the 1GE ports accept 1G SFP optics. AC variant rackmount kits include N540-RCKMT-19-ACD, N540-RCKMT-23-ACD and N540-RKMT-ETSI-ACD. The router runs Cisco IOS XR.
