Description

The NCS 540 N540-ACC-M is a 1RU fixed-chassis, temperature-hardened router from the Cisco Network Convergence System 540 medium-density family. It is built for service-provider converged access and aggregation, including mobile backhaul and fronthaul, business and residential services, and cell-site or cabinet deployments that need a low-power, hardened platform with precise timing.

The port layout combines 24x 1/10GE SFP+, 8x 1/10/25GE SFP28 and 2x 40/100GE QSFP28 ports, with forwarding performance of up to 300 Mpps. This variant is the 24x1/10GE + 8x10/25GE + 2x100GE fixed chassis (-M) with front-to-back airflow and modular AC/DC power supplies, supporting 1+1 power redundancy and 3+1 fan redundancy. It runs carrier-class Cisco IOS XR software and supports SyncE and PTP (Class B) with an internal GNSS receiver.

It works with the N540-PWR400-A (AC) and N540-PWR400-D (DC) power supplies, the N540-FAN fan module, and the N540-RCKMT-19, N540-RCKMT-23 and N540-RKMT-ETSI rack mounts. Software licensing is flexible consumption per 10G of capacity, as Access Essentials or Access Advantage.
