Description

The NCS 540 N540-6Z18G-SYS-A is a 1RU commercial-temperature small-density router from the Cisco Network Convergence System 540 family. It runs IOS XR and is aimed at cost-effective 4G and 5G cell-site, RAN backhaul and access and aggregation deployments, as well as fixed-wireless access, small-cell backhaul, FTTx, utilities and low-speed Ethernet rings.

This AC variant provides 18x 1GE SFP ports and 6x 1/10GE SFP+ ports with up to 125 Mpps of forwarding performance. A 4-core 2 GHz CPU, 8 GB of DRAM and 16 GB of eMMC storage support the software. It has one fixed AC power supply with a universal 90-265 V, 50-60 Hz input, and fixed redundant 2+1 fans with front-to-side airflow. The C-Temp rating covers 0 to 55 C at 300 m. The N540-6Z18G-SYS-D is the DC counterpart of this chassis.

IOS XR software is bundled, with feature use via Cisco Access Essentials or Access Advantage right-to-use or subscription licences ordered per 10G. Rackmount options for the AC variant include N540-RCKMT-19-ACA, N540-RCKMT-23-ACA and N540-RKMT-ETSI-ACA, and optics are selected from the Cisco Transceiver Module Group compatibility matrix for the NCS 540 Series.
