Description

The NCS 540 N540-24Z8Q2C-M is a 1RU IOS XR router built for mobile backhaul, cell-site access and metro aggregation. It is environmentally hardened for indoor or outdoor cabinet deployments and includes an integrated GNSS receiver, which makes it a strong fit for 5G transport where precise frequency and phase/time synchronisation is required.

The chassis provides 24 x 1GE/10GE access ports, 8 x 1GE/10GE/25GE aggregation ports and 2 x 40GE/100GE uplink ports, with up to 300 Mpps of forwarding performance. This -M variant has 32GB of DRAM and 128GB of storage on a 4-core 1.5GHz x86 CPU. It takes two hot-swappable AC or DC power supplies in 1+1 redundancy, with four modular fans in 3+1 redundancy and front-to-back airflow. The operating range extends from -40C to +70C at 1,000 ft.

It runs Cisco IOS XR and supports Segment Routing, EVPN, MPLS and hierarchical QoS. Supported power supplies are the N540-PWR400-A for AC and N540-PWR400-D for DC, and the fan module is the N540-FAN. Rackmount kits are N540-RCKMT-19, N540-RCKMT-23 and N540-RKMT-ETSI.
