Description

The Cisco NCS 520 is a fixed 1RU carrier Ethernet demarcation device built for service providers. It supports Layer 2 and Layer 3 services, is MEF 3.0 certified, and is designed for customer-located deployment of business Ethernet services, mobile backhaul and cloud access, with zero-touch provisioning for touchless rollout.

This N520-20G4Z-A model provides 24 ports: 4 x 1G copper RJ45, 16 x 1G SFP and 4 x 1/10G SFP+. It is the commercial-temperature, AC-powered variant with dual AC power supplies accepting 85 to 264 V AC, 4+1 fan redundancy and front-to-back airflow. Maximum input power for the 24-port chassis is 110 W. It runs Cisco IOS XE, with the Metro Access License as the base software and optional port upgrade licences, and supports Smart Licensing alongside PAK licensing.

It works with Cisco 100M/1G SFP and 10G SFP+ optics such as GLC-SX-MMD, GLC-LH-SMD, GLC-T, SFP-10G-SR and SFP-10G-LR, as well as SFP-H10GB-CU DAC cables and CWDM, DWDM and BiDi SFP+ modules. 19 in., 23 in. and ETSI rack mount kits are available.
