Description

The ISR 4461 is a modular 3RU Integrated Services Router from the Cisco 4000 Family, built for branch, WAN edge and SD-WAN deployments that need high throughput. It is the highest-performance model in the ISR 4000 range and runs modular Cisco IOS XE. It suits hybrid WAN connectivity across MPLS, VPN and Internet links, as well as NEBS-compliant environments.

Onboard connectivity is 2 x 10G SFP+ ports and 4 x 10/100/1000 ports. Aggregate throughput is 1.5 Gbps by default, 3 Gbps with a Performance licence and over 7 Gbps CEF-only with a Boost licence. This SKU has an AC power supply (100 to 240 VAC autoranging, 1000 W maximum with no PoE), 8 GB flash and 4 GB data-plane DRAM, plus 3 NIM slots, 3 Enhanced Service Module slots (2 doublewide) and 1 onboard ISC slot.

It takes Cisco ISR 4000 NIMs and Enhanced Service Modules, including optional LTE and other WAN modules, and SFP/SFP+ optics in the onboard SFP-based ports. Control and services plane DRAM can be expanded to 32 GB and flash to 32 GB.

Q: How do I increase throughput on the ISR 4461?
A: Default aggregate throughput is 1.5 Gbps. A Performance licence raises it to 3 Gbps and a Boost licence to over 7 Gbps for CEF-only traffic.

Q: What power options does the ISR 4461 support?
A: The platform supports internal AC, DC and PoE power supplies with redundancy. This SKU uses AC input of 100 to 240 VAC, with a maximum platform draw of 1000 W without PoE.
