Description

The Cisco ISR 4451-X Security Bundle is an Integrated Services Router from the ISR 4000 series, built for the WAN edge of large enterprise branch offices. It combines routing, VPN and security services in a single 2RU platform, and suits branch-in-a-box deployments over MPLS, VPN and Internet links.

This SKU is the Security Bundle with the IOS XE Security (SEC) technology package licence, delivered as a PAK. Default aggregate throughput is 1 Gbps, which can be raised to 2 Gbps with a Performance licence, or to over 4 Gbps CEF-only with a Boost licence. The router has 4 onboard 10/100/1000 WAN/LAN ports, 3 NIM slots, 2 enhanced service-module slots (or 1 double-wide) and an onboard ISC slot. It ships with 8 GB of flash and 4 GB of control and services plane DRAM plus 2 GB of data plane DRAM, and embedded IPsec VPN hardware acceleration supports the security services enabled by the SEC licence.

It accepts NIM network interface modules and SM-X service modules, with online insertion and removal on I/O modules. Control and services plane memory can be expanded to 16 GB and flash to 32 GB. Additional technology packages and DNA subscriptions are licensed separately.

Q: What licence is included with this bundle?
A: This SKU includes the IOS XE Security (SEC) technology package licence, delivered as a PAK. Other technology packages such as Unified Communications, Application Experience and Data are licensed separately.

Q: Can the throughput be increased?
A: Yes. Default aggregate throughput is 1 Gbps. A Performance licence raises it to 2 Gbps, and a Boost licence raises CEF-only throughput to over 4 Gbps, with no hardware change.

Q: What modules does the ISR 4451-X support?
A: It supports NIM network interface modules in 3 slots, SM-X service modules in 2 slots or 1 double-wide slot, and has an onboard ISC slot.

Q: Can memory and flash be upgraded?
