Description

The Cisco ISR 4451-X is a modular branch-office Integrated Services Router in the Cisco 4000 Series, built on Cisco IOS XE with a multicore CPU architecture. It is designed for medium and large branch sites that need application-aware WAN edge routing, VPN security, voice and unified communications, WAAS and UCS E-Series server hosting, with room to grow through modular LAN and WAN slots.

This AX Bundle SKU pairs the ISR 4451-X platform with the Application Experience (AppX) and Security technology licences. The router supports concurrent services up to 2 Gbps, with a performance-on-demand upgrade available to double base forwarding throughput. It provides four onboard 10/100/1000 WAN/LAN ports that accept SFP or RJ-45, three NIM slots, two SM-X service-module slots (one doublewide capable) and one ISC slot. Default memory is 4 GB control-plane DRAM, upgradable to 16 GB, plus 2 GB data-plane DRAM and 8 GB flash, upgradable to 32 GB.

It runs a single Cisco IOS XE Universal image. The 2RU chassis includes 19-inch rack-mount hardware, uses an internal AC power supply, and can take an optional PoE or redundant power supply. Compatible modules include PVDM4 DSP modules in the ISC slot, NIM SSD/HDD modules and Cisco UCS E-Series modules.

Q: Which licences does the AX Bundle include?
A: The AX Bundle SKU includes the Application Experience (AppX) and Security technology licences on top of the Cisco IOS XE Universal image. The Security licence enables the embedded IPsec hardware encryption acceleration.

Q: What throughput does the ISR 4451-X support?
A: It supports concurrent services up to 2 Gbps. A performance-on-demand licence upgrade is available to double the base forwarding throughput.

Q: What modules and optics work with the ISR 4451-X?
