Description

The ISR 4351 is a modular branch-office router from the Cisco ISR 4000 family, built for medium to large branch sites that need a converged WAN edge. It handles secure WAN and VPN connectivity, Catalyst SD-WAN, an on-site voice gateway, SIP trunking and Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE) services on a single IOS XE platform.

This ISR4351-VSEC/K9 is the UC + Security bundle with a PVDM4-64 voice DSP module. It provides 3 onboard 10/100/1000 WAN/LAN ports, available as RJ-45 or SFP-based combo ports, plus 3 NIM slots, 2 single-wide SM-X slots and 1 double-wide SM-X slot for modular I/O. Aggregate throughput is 200 Mbps by default and can be raised to 400 Mbps with the Performance licence, or to over 2 Gbps CEF-only with the Boost licence. Memory is 4 GB DRAM and 4 GB flash by default, expandable to 16 GB of each. The VSEC bundle covers the Unified Communications and Security technology packages on the universal IOS XE image.

The PVDM4-64 sits in the onboard ISC slot and supports high-density voice DSP workloads. The chassis is 2RU with a 19-inch rack-mount kit and an internal AC power supply, with a PoE-capable supply available as an option.

FAQs

Q: What does the VSEC bundle licensing cover?
A: The VSEC bundle covers the Unified Communications and Security technology packages on the universal Cisco IOS XE image. Throughput is 200 Mbps by default and can be increased with the Performance or Boost licences.

Q: How is throughput increased beyond the default?
A: Default aggregate throughput is 200 Mbps. The Performance licence raises it to 400 Mbps, and the Boost licence delivers over 2 Gbps CEF-only throughput.

Q: What power supply does the ISR 4351 use?
A: It uses an internal AC power supply rated 100 to 240 VAC autoranging at 47 to 63 Hz, with a typical draw of 48 W and a maximum of 430 W. A PoE-capable supply is also available for up to 500 W of endpoint PoE.

Q: What modules does the ISR 4351 accept?
A: It has 3 NIM slots, 2 single-wide SM-X slots that can be combined into 1 double-wide slot, and an onboard ISC slot for PVDM4 DSP modules. All I/O modules support online insertion and removal.
