Description

The ISR 4351 is a modular branch router from the Cisco 4000 Family Integrated Services Routers, built for the enterprise branch-office WAN edge. It runs Cisco IOS XE and supports Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN, so it suits secure connectivity over MPLS, internet and VPN links as well as converged branch deployments that need room for extra modules and services.

This SKU is the security bundle with the Security (SEC) licence, which ships with the Cisco IOS XE securityk9 technology-package licence and enables hardware-accelerated IPsec VPN and WAN link security. It has three onboard 10/100/1000 WAN/LAN ports, each an RJ-45 and SFP combination, three NIM slots and two SM-X service-module slots, or one doublewide slot. Aggregate throughput is 200 Mbps by default and can be raised to 400 Mbps with the Performance licence, or over 2 Gbps (CEF only) with the Boost licence. Memory is 4 GB DRAM and 4 GB flash by default, each upgradable to 16 GB.

The chassis is 2RU and mounts in a 19-inch rack, with an optional 23-inch kit. It accepts Cisco NIM modules and SM-X service modules, and internal AC, DC and PoE power supply options exist for the platform. Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN and DNA subscriptions are licensed separately.

Q: Which licence does this SKU include?
A: It is the security bundle with the Cisco IOS XE Security (securityk9) technology-package licence. Throughput starts at 200 Mbps and can be increased with the optional Performance or Boost licences.

Q: How can I increase the throughput?
A: Aggregate throughput is 200 Mbps by default. The Performance licence raises it to 400 Mbps, and the Boost licence provides over 2 Gbps for CEF-only traffic.
