Description

The ISR 4351 is a modular branch-office router from the Cisco 4000 Series Integrated Services Router family, built for medium to large branch offices and enterprise WAN edge deployments that need routing, security, application services and WAN optimisation in one platform. This SKU is the AX bundle, which adds the Application Experience and Security feature licences on top of IP Base. It does not include the Unified Communications licence, which is part of the AXV bundle.

The router provides three onboard 10/100/1000 WAN/LAN ports, three NIM slots, two SM-X service module slots (convertible to one double-wide) and one onboard ISC slot. Base aggregate throughput is 200 Mbps, upgradable to 400 Mbps with the FL-4350-PERF-K9 performance licence. It ships with 4 GB DRAM and 4 GB flash by default, expandable to 16 GB of each, and fits a 2 RU rack space. The Application Experience set covers PfRv3, WAAS with AppNav, NBAR2, AVC, IP SLA and Akamai Connect, while the Security set adds IPsec VPN and zone-based firewall services.

The platform accepts Cisco NIMs and SM-X service modules, including UCS-E server modules for on-router compute. An internal AC power supply covers 100 to 240 VAC, with DC and PoE power-supply options in the family.

FAQs

Q: What licences does the AX bundle include?
A: The AX bundle includes the Application Experience (APP) and Security (SEC) feature licences on top of IP Base. The Unified Communications licence is not part of this bundle.

Q: How do I increase throughput beyond 200 Mbps?
A: Base aggregate throughput is 200 Mbps. The optional FL-4350-PERF-K9 performance licence raises it to 400 Mbps.

Q: What modules does it accept?
A: It accepts Cisco NIMs in its three NIM slots and SM-X service modules in its two SM-X slots, including UCS-E server modules. Refer to the ISR 4000 interfaces and modules compatibility sheet for the full supported list.

Q: Does it support redundant power?
A: No. The router uses a single internal AC power supply rated 100 to 240 VAC, with a 430 W maximum draw.

Q: How does this differ from the AXV bundle?
A: The AX bundle provides Application Experience and Security licences. The AXV bundle adds the Unified Communications licence for voice features.
