Description

The ISR 4331 is a branch-office integrated services router from the Cisco 4000 Series ISR family. This ISR4331-DNA SKU is the ISR 4331 platform ordered with Cisco DNA subscription support, and it suits small-to-medium branch and remote-office WAN edge deployments, including Catalyst SD-WAN branches and converged branch infrastructure that combines routing, security, voice and compute.

The chassis provides three onboard 10/100/1000 WAN or LAN ports, two NIM slots, one enhanced service-module slot and an onboard ISC slot. Aggregate throughput is 100 Mbps by default, rising to 300 Mbps with the Performance licence and beyond 2 Gbps CEF-only with the Boost licence. It ships with 4 GB DRAM and 4 GB flash, upgradable to 16 GB of each. Power comes from an internal AC supply, 100 to 240 VAC autoranging, drawing a typical 42 W with no modules and up to 250 W maximum. A subscription-based ISR can run in autonomous mode or in controller mode for Catalyst SD-WAN.

The NIM slots accept ISR 4000 NIM modules, including Gigabit Ethernet WAN NIMs and LTE NIMs, and the SM slot takes an SM-X service module. The router runs Cisco IOS XE in a 1RU, 19-inch rack-mountable chassis.

FAQs

Q: Does this router need a licence or subscription?
A: This SKU is ordered with a Cisco DNA Software subscription for SD-WAN and routing. A subscription-based ISR can run in autonomous mode or in controller mode for Catalyst SD-WAN.

Q: How do I increase the throughput beyond 100 Mbps?
A: Throughput is licence-based. The Performance licence (FL-4330-PERF-K9) raises aggregate throughput from 100 Mbps to 300 Mbps, and a Boost licence is available for CEF-only throughput over 2 Gbps.

Q: What modules does it accept?
A: The two NIM slots take ISR 4000 NIM modules, including Gigabit Ethernet WAN NIMs and LTE NIMs. The single SM slot takes an SM-X service module, and there is also an onboard ISC slot.

Q: What power does it use?
A: It uses an internal AC power supply rated 100 to 240 VAC, 47 to 63 Hz. Typical draw is 42 W with no modules and up to 250 W at maximum.

Q: Can the memory be upgraded?
A: Yes. It ships with 4 GB DRAM and 4 GB flash, and both can be upgraded to 16 GB.
