Description

The ISR1100-6G is a compact wired branch router from the Cisco ISR 1100 Series, built to run Cisco SD-WAN under Viptela OS or IOS XE SD-WAN in controller mode. It suits remote offices, branch offices and campus perimeters where a secure SD-WAN overlay needs to span mixed WAN transports such as broadband, MPLS, and fibre or copper via SFP.

This ISR 1100 (non-X) model provides four 10/100/1000 RJ-45 WAN/LAN ports and two Gigabit SFP-capable ports, with 4 GB of fixed DDR4 ECC DRAM, 8 GB eMMC bulk flash and dual 16 MB serial flash. SD-WAN IPsec throughput is 1889 Mbps with 1400-byte packets and 972 Mbps with IMIX traffic, with up to 1500 SD-WAN overlay tunnels on IOS XE SD-WAN 17.12.1. It runs from an external 30 W AC adapter, has no PoE, and includes a USB 3.0 Type-A port and an RJ45 console port. Dimensions are 259 x 178 x 28 mm and weight is 1.21 kg.

Supported SFPs include VIP-SFP-1GE-BASET, VIP-SFP-1GE-LX, VIP-SFP-1GE-SX, GLC-TE, GLC-SX-MMD and GLC-LH-SMD. The router is managed centrally through Cisco vManage with zero-touch provisioning.

Q: Does the ISR1100-6G need a licence or subscription?
A: It runs under Cisco SD-WAN, using Viptela OS or IOS XE SD-WAN in controller mode. Advanced features are enabled by activating a software licence on the image, and NETWORK-PNP-LIC supports zero-touch deployment.

Q: How is it powered?
A: It uses an external 30 W AC adapter (341-100891-01) accepting 100 to 240 VAC, 50 to 60 Hz, with a +12 VDC output. It does not provide PoE.

Q: Which SFP modules does it support?
A: Supported SFPs are VIP-SFP-1GE-BASET, VIP-SFP-1GE-LX and VIP-SFP-1GE-SX, plus GLC-TE, GLC-SX-MMD and GLC-LH-SMD on newer software releases.
