Description

The Cisco 6300 Series Embedded Services Access Point is an enclosure-less 802.11ac Wave 2 industrial access point designed to be built into heavy-industry and smart-city assets such as light poles, industrial equipment and OEM or integrator hardware. It provides mesh, bridge or FlexConnect Wi-Fi where a conventional enclosed access point is not practical. This SKU is the DC input version for the Z regulatory domain.

The dual-band 2x2 MIMO radios support two spatial streams with MU-MIMO and SU-MIMO, delivering PHY data rates up to 867 Mbps on 5 GHz with 80 MHz channels. Wired connectivity includes one 10/100/1000BASE-T PoE+ input, two 10/100/1000BASE-T PoE output ports delivering 35.3 W in total and up to 30 W per port, plus an SFP port for fibre or electrical backhaul. The DC input accepts 44-57 VDC, and the unit is rated for operation from -40 to 85 C with DIN rail mounting. Uplinks can be Ethernet, SFP or wireless mesh.

Four MMCX female RF ports connect external antennas, including dual-band models such as AIR-ANT2547V-N, AIR-ANT2568VG-N, AIR-ANT2588P3M-N and AIR-ANT2513P4M-N. The access point can operate with a wireless LAN controller, in Cisco Mobility Express mode for up to 50 access points, or as a static or mobile workgroup bridge.

FAQs

Q: Does this access point need a separate licence or subscription?
A: No separate licence or subscription is required for standalone operation. It can run with a wireless LAN controller or in Cisco Mobility Express mode, which supports up to 50 access points without a physical controller.

Q: What power does the DC input version require?
A: It takes a 44-57 VDC input. For 802.3at Type 2 PoE output the DC input must be 51 V or higher, and for 802.3af PoE output it must be 45 V or higher. Total consumption is up to 56.2 W when fully loaded.

Q: Which antennas can be connected?
A: The four MMCX female RF ports accept external antennas. Dual-band options include AIR-ANT2547V-N, AIR-ANT2568VG-N, AIR-ANT2588P3M-N and AIR-ANT2513P4M-N, while AIR-ANT2450V-N and AIR-ANT5180V-N are single-band options.

Q: How does this SKU differ from other ESW6300 variants?
A: ESW-6300-CON-Z-K9 is the DC input version for the Z regulatory domain. Other variants differ in regulatory domain, so check country approval for the Z domain before deployment.

Q: How can it be mounted and powered in the field?
A: It mounts on DIN rail and is rated for -40 to 85 C operation. It can be powered from the DC input, and the two PoE-out ports can in turn power attached devices such as IP cameras and sensors.
