Description

The Catalyst IW9167E Heavy Duty is a ruggedised IP67 Wi-Fi 6E industrial access point built for outdoor and harsh-environment deployments. This IW9167EH-Z-WGB variant ships with the Workgroup Bridge software image for the Z regulatory domain, so it associates to an infrastructure access point as a client and gives wired industrial equipment behind its Ethernet port a connection to the Wi-Fi network. It suits AGVs, AMRs, teleremote devices, rail and other static or mobile industrial applications.

The platform uses three 4x4 radios covering 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 5/6 GHz, with PHY data rates up to 7.8 Gbps and 160 MHz channel support on the 5/6 GHz radio. Eight N-type external antenna ports and a TNC GNSS port support the Cisco antenna portfolio and Self-Identifiable Antennas. Connectivity includes one 100M/1G/2.5G/5G Multigigabit Ethernet port with PoE+ and UPOE input, plus one SFP port for copper or fibre. It can also be powered from 24-48 VDC.

The WGB image requires Cisco Unified Industrial Wireless Software 17.11.1 or later and works with infrastructure access points managed by Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controllers. The unit is rated IP66 and IP67 and operates from -40 to +70 C, with an extended range of -50 to +75 C when DC powered.

Q: Does the WGB mode need a separate licence?
A: No separate licence is stated for WGB mode in the datasheet. This SKU ships with the WGB software image. Cisco DNA licences apply to Wi-Fi mode and URWB licences apply to URWB mode only.
