Description

The ENCS5406P/K9 is the chassis-only version of the Cisco 5406 Enterprise Network Compute System, a 1RU x86 appliance for SD-Branch and Enterprise NFV deployments. It is built around a 6-core Intel Xeon D-1528 processor and combines routing, switching, compute and storage to host virtualised network functions on a single platform. This non-PoE variant ships with no memory or disk installed, so RAM and storage are fitted to suit the deployment.

Q: Does the ENCS5406P/K9 include memory or storage?
A: No. This is the chassis-only version with no RAM and no disk installed. Memory (up to 64 GB across 2 DIMM slots) and storage (M.2 SATA and up to 2 SFF drives) need to be fitted separately.

Q: Does this model support PoE?
A: No. The ENCS 5406 does not support PoE. Its 8 integrated LAN switch ports are standard Gigabit Ethernet.

Q: What type of memory does it use?
A: It has 2 DIMM slots for ECC DDR4 memory, supporting 8, 16 or 32 GB modules, for a maximum of 64 GB.

Q: Can it be used with a 4G LTE connection?
