Description

The ISR 3945E is a second-generation Integrated Services Router in the Cisco 3900 series, built on the SPE250 services performance engine. This SKU is the Security Bundle, which includes the SEC technology-package licence PAK, making it suited to branch-office and regional-site WAN edge deployments that need integrated VPN and firewall services alongside modular voice, wireless and application services.

The chassis provides 4 integrated 10/100/1000 GE WAN/LAN ports (RJ-45 / SFP combo), 3 EHWIC slots, 3 onboard DSP (PVDM3) slots, 4 service module slots and 1 ISM slot. It ships with 1 GB DRAM and 256 MB Compact Flash by default and uses integrated hardware crypto acceleration for IPsec and SSL. It is a 3 RU rack-mount unit powered by an internal AC supply, with PoE and DC internal supply options and redundant supply support.

The SEC licence PAK enables the Security technology package on the Cisco IOS Universal image, on top of the default IP Base. Other technology packages such as UC and Data are licensed separately. The router accepts Cisco EHWICs, PVDM3 DSP modules, ISMs and Services Ready Engine service modules.
