Description

The Cisco ISR 3945 is a modular Integrated Services Router from the 3900 Series (ISR G2), supplied as a Security Bundle. It is aimed at branch and enterprise WAN edge deployments that need VPN, firewall and other security services alongside voice and service-module expansion.

This SKU pairs the C3900-SPE150/K9 services performance engine with 1 GB of ECC DDR2 DRAM (2 GB maximum) and 256 MB of external CompactFlash by default, expandable to 4 GB per slot across two slots. It has three onboard 10/100/1000 ports in RJ-45 form, with two SFP-based options that each share a port with an RJ-45. Expansion comes from four EHWIC slots (two double-wide capable), four service module slots (one double-wide), four DSP slots and one ISM slot. Integrated hardware encryption acceleration covers IPSec and SSL, and the router supports Cisco Unified SRST for up to 1200 sessions.

The bundle includes the Cisco IOS Security (SEC) licence PAK on top of the IP Base image. Data, UC and other technology packages are separate licences. The chassis accepts EHWIC and HWIC cards, SM and SRE service modules, DSP modules, VPN ISM and CompactFlash cards, and uses an internal AC power supply.
