Description

The Cisco 3945 is a modular Integrated Services Router from the Cisco 3900 Series (ISR G2), built for branch and regional-office WAN edge deployments. It combines routing, security and voice services in a single 3RU chassis, and suits sites that need secure site-to-site and remote-access VPN termination alongside a converged voice and data gateway.

This HSEC+ bundle pairs the HSEC high-performance security licence with the VPN ISM hardware encryption module, supporting embedded IPsec and SSL cryptography acceleration. It has three onboard 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet ports, with two SFP-based ports that each disable one RJ-45 port, and a field-replaceable SPE150 Services Performance Engine. Expansion comes from four EHWIC slots, four DSP slots, four service module slots and one ISM slot. Memory is 1 GB DDR2 ECC DRAM by default, expandable to 2 GB, with 256 MB of external CompactFlash by default and up to 4 GB per slot.

The chassis supports existing ISR EHWIC, PVDM and service modules, plus SFP optics on the onboard Gigabit ports. Power supply options are AC, AC-PoE and DC, with redundant supplies supported.

Q: What does the HSEC+ bundle include?
A: The bundle includes the HSEC high-performance security licence PAK and the VPN ISM hardware encryption module. The base IOS image is IP Base, and the Data, UC and other technology packages are separate licences.

Q: What power supply options does the 3945 support?
A: Internal AC, AC-PoE and DC power supplies are supported, with redundant supplies available. AC input is 100 to 240 VAC autoranging and DC input is 24 to 60 VDC. Typical power with no modules is 105 W.
