Description

The Cisco ISR 2951 is the highest-density member of the modular 2900 Series ISR G2 branch-office routers. The CISCO2951-V/K9 is the Voice Bundle SKU, aimed at small and midsize branch sites that run voice and unified communications services on the router alongside data routing, security and WAN connectivity.

It provides 3 onboard 10/100/1000 RJ-45 WAN ports and 1 SFP-based Gigabit Ethernet port, which shares with one of the RJ-45 ports. Expansion comes from 4 EHWIC slots (2 double-wide), 2 Service Module slots (1 double-wide), 1 ISM slot and 3 onboard PVDM3 DSP slots. Memory is 512 MB DDR2 ECC DRAM by default, expandable to 2 GB. Concurrent services throughput is up to 75 Mbps, and embedded hardware IPsec acceleration is built in. For call control it supports up to 250 Cisco Unified SRST sessions and up to 150 Cisco Unified CME sessions.

The router runs a single Cisco IOS Universal image, with IP Base enabled by default and the Data, Unified Communications and Security technology sets activated through software licensing. It accepts EHWIC, HWIC, WIC, VIC and VWIC interface cards, service modules including SRE, ISM modules, PVDM3 DSP modules and SFPs.
