Description

The ISR 2951 is a modular second-generation Integrated Services Router from the Cisco 2900 Series, built for larger branch offices and small to medium enterprise WAN edge deployments that need to consolidate voice, video, security and data services on a single platform.

It provides three onboard 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet WAN ports, one of which is an RJ-45/SFP combination port. Expansion comes from four EHWIC slots (two of them double-wide), two service module slots (one double-wide), one Internal Services Module slot and three onboard PVDM3 DSP slots. Memory is 512 MB DDR2 ECC DRAM by default, expandable to 2.5 GB, and concurrent services WAN performance is up to 75 Mbps. Embedded hardware-based IPSec VPN acceleration is included, and the unit supports up to 250 Cisco Unified SRST sessions or 150 CCME sessions.

This SKU runs the Cisco IOS Universal image with the IP Base technology package enabled by default. Data, Unified Communications and Security licences are optional and activated through Cisco software activation. The router accepts EHWIC, HWIC, WIC, VIC and VWIC interface cards, service modules, ISM modules such as the Services Ready Engine, PVDM3 DSP modules and SFP optics on the combination port.
