Description

The Cisco 2911 is a modular Integrated Services Router from the Cisco 2900 Series ISR G2 range, supplied here as a security bundle with the Cisco IOS Security (SEC) licence PAK. It suits branch-office and small to medium business WAN routing where integrated VPN, firewall and IPS features are needed alongside optional voice, video and wireless services.

Onboard connectivity is three 10/100/1000 RJ-45 WAN/LAN ports, with four EHWIC slots (two of which can be used as double-wide), one single-wide service module slot, one ISM slot and two onboard DSP (PVDM) slots. This SKU ships with 512 MB of DDR2 ECC DRAM by default, expandable to 2 GB, and offers up to 75 Mbps of concurrent-services WAN performance. Embedded hardware-based cryptography accelerates IPsec VPN once the SEC licence is activated. Storage and expansion include two external Compact Flash slots and two USB 2.0 ports.

The SEC licence PAK (SL-29-SEC-K9) is activated on the single Cisco IOS Universal image. The router works with EHWIC and HWIC interface modules, PVDM DSP modules, SRE service modules, ISM modules, Compact Flash storage and USB tokens.
