Description

The Catalyst Cellular Gateway CG418-E is a CAT18 LTE Advanced Pro cellular gateway that connects to a Cisco host router over Ethernet. It provides primary or failover cellular WAN for branch sites, remote locations and SD-WAN deployments, and can be placed up to 100 m from the host router where cellular reception is strongest.

It delivers up to 1.2 Gbps download and 150 Mbps upload, and is backward compatible with LTE CAT 7, CAT6 and CAT 4. Connectivity includes one 2.5/10 multigigabit RJ45 port, an RJ45 console port, an RJ45 aux port, four SMA antenna ports for 4x4 MIMO and one SMA GPS port. Dual micro-SIMs run in active/standby, and external antennas are supported. Management is through the CLI, the local WebUI or Catalyst SD-WAN Manager, with zero-touch provisioning and IP passthrough mode using a single PDN.

It works with Cisco IOS XE based host platforms, including Cisco 1000 and 4000 Series Integrated Services Routers and Catalyst 8000 Series Edge Platforms. Power is supplied by AC, with PoE available via the CG-POE-AT model.

Q: Does the CG418-E need a separate licence?
A: No separate licence is stated for the gateway itself. Management through Catalyst SD-WAN Manager requires a Catalyst SD-WAN deployment. The minimum gateway software image is Cisco SCG418-EIPS-173.
