Description

The Cisco 8500 Series C8570-G2 is a 1RU fixed-form-factor secure router built on the third-generation Quantum Flow Processor (QFP) ASIC. It is aimed at data centre and colocation WAN aggregation and interconnect, where large data flows need to be routed securely between sites, data centres and clouds.

This model provides 12x 1/10GE SFP+ ports, 2x 40GE QSFP+ ports and 2x 40/100GE QSFP28 ports, with up to 240GE of ports enabled simultaneously. Forwarding throughput reaches up to 190 Gbps at 512B packets, with up to 63 Gbps of IPsec throughput and up to 21 Gbps of SD-WAN throughput. It ships with 32 GB DRAM as standard (64 GB option) and 480 GB of storage, and is powered by a 750 W AC or 950 W DC supply. Compared with the C8550-G2, which offers 12x 10GE and 115 Gbps forwarding, the C8570-G2 adds the 40G and 100G ports and a higher forwarding ceiling.

Minimum software is IOS XE 17.15.4, with Catalyst SD-WAN Manager 20.15.4 for SD-WAN deployments. It can be managed through Catalyst SD-WAN Manager, Catalyst Center, or the Meraki dashboard for WAN only.
