Description

The Cisco 8100 Series C8161-G2 is a compact secure router for small branches, point-of-sale sites, remote workers and IoT deployments. Built on Cisco's secure networking processor, it combines routing, integrated security and SD-WAN capability in a small chassis that can be rack mounted, placed on a desk, fixed under a desk or mounted on a DIN rail or wall.

This model provides 10 x 1GE ports: 2 x RJ-45/SFP combo WAN ports, 2 x GE RJ-45 flex ports and 6 x GE RJ-45 LAN ports, of which 4 support PoE and 2 support PoE+, for up to 80W of PoE output. A single Pluggable Interface Module slot accepts an optional LTE-A or 5G Sub-6 cellular module. Rated throughput is 5.6 Gbps forwarding, 1.5 Gbps IPsec, 900 Mbps SD-WAN and 1 Gbps threat protection. It supports up to 500K IPv4 routes, 4K VRFs and 250 IPsec tunnels, and is powered by a 150W external supply.

It runs Cisco IOS XE 17.18.1 or later for autonomous routing and SD-WAN, with Catalyst SD-WAN Manager 20.18.1 as the minimum for SD-WAN management. Supported cellular modules are P-5GS6-R16SA-GL, P-LTEA7-NA, P-LTEA7-EAL and P-LTEA7-JP.
