Description

The ISR 3945 is a Cisco 3900 Series Integrated Services Router bundle built for large branch offices that need WAN optimisation alongside integrated routing, VPN and security on a single platform. It pairs the 3945 chassis with an SRE 900 or SRE 910 service module to host Cisco WAAS.

The bundle includes the Cisco WAAS Enterprise Large licence and the IOS Security (SEC) licence PAK, so the security feature set and WAN acceleration are ready to enable. The router provides 3 integrated 10/100/1000 WAN/LAN ports, two of which can be SFP-based, plus 1 GB of default ECC DDR2 DRAM (up to 2 GB) and 256 MB of external Compact Flash. Onboard hardware crypto acceleration handles IPSec and SSL, and the platform supports Cisco Unified CME with 350 sessions and SRST with 1200 sessions. Internal AC, PoE and DC power supply options are available, including a redundant supply option.

The 3945 accepts up to 4 SRE 700/710/900/910 service modules plus 1 SRE 300 ISM, along with EHWIC/HWIC, DSP and SFP interfaces. WAAS on SRE requires WAAS 4.2 or later and Cisco IOS 15.0(1)M2 or later, with 15.0(1)M3 or later recommended.
