Description

The ISR 3945 is a modular branch-office router from the Cisco 3900 Series Integrated Services Routers (ISR G2). This bundle pairs the 3945 chassis with an SRE 700 service module, a PVDM3-64 voice DSP module, and the Unified Communications (UC) and Security (SEC) technology-package licences. It suits enterprise branches and WAN edge sites that want routing, secure VPN, voice survivability and on-router application services in a single rack-mount chassis.

The chassis provides 3 integrated 10/100/1000 WAN/LAN ports, 2 of which can alternatively use SFP, plus 2 USB 2.0 Type A ports, a USB console port, a serial console port and a serial auxiliary port. It ships with 1 GB DRAM as standard (expandable to 2 GB) and 256 MB of Compact Flash, with up to 4 GB supported per slot. Integrated hardware crypto acceleration covers IPSec and SSL, and voice capacity on the 3945 reaches 350 Cisco Unified CME sessions and 1200 SRST sessions. The SRE 700 and PVDM3-64 modules in this SKU set it apart from the SRE 900 variant (C3945-VSEC-PSRE/K9).

The 3945 accepts up to 4 SRE 700, 710, 900 or 910 service modules plus 1 SRE 300 ISM. Internal AC, PoE and DC power supply options are available, with an optional redundant supply for sites that need extra resilience.
