Description

The Cisco ISR 3925E is a second-generation Integrated Services Router in the 3900 Series, supplied here as a bundle for branch offices that need WAN routing, voice, security and on-router application hosting in a single chassis.

This bundle pairs the 3925E with an SRE 900 or SRE 910 service module, a PVDM3-64 voice DSP module and the Unified Communications and Security licence PAKs. The SRE 900/910 uses an Intel Core2 Duo 1.86 GHz CPU with 4 GB DRAM as standard, expandable to 8 GB, and a 2-GB internal USB flash module. It has two 500-GB SATA hard disks with RAID 1 support, and the disks are hot-swappable and field-replaceable. The module connects to the router backplane over an internal Gigabit Ethernet link, with a USB connector and an RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet connector on the front.

The SRE hardware resources are independent of the router CPU, so hosted applications such as Unity Express, UCS Express, WAAS or a wireless LAN controller do not affect routing performance. The 3925E supports up to 2 SRE 700/710/900/910 modules and requires IOS 15.1(4)M or later for the SRE 900/910.
