Description

The ISR 3925 UC and Security bundle is a branch office router built on the Cisco 3900 Series Integrated Services Routers (ISR G2) platform. It combines the 3925 chassis and C3900-SPE100/K9 Services Performance Engine with a Services-Ready Engine 700 service module, a PVDM3-64 voice DSP module and the Unified Communications and Security technology licence PAKs. It suits branch sites that need a voice gateway, encrypted VPN and on-router application hosting in a single 3U chassis.

The chassis provides three onboard 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports, two of which can be RJ-45 or SFP, four EHWIC slots (two can be double-wide), two service-module slots, one ISM slot and four DSP slots. It includes embedded hardware-based IPSec and SSL cryptography, 1 GB of default ECC DDR2 DRAM and 256 MB of default external Compact Flash. The SRE 700 module uses an Intel Core2 Solo 1.86 GHz CPU with 4 GB of DRAM. The UC and Security licence PAKs enable voice and security features on the Universal image, and the PVDM3-64 supplies DSP resources for voice and video gateway functions, conferencing and transcoding.

The platform accepts PVDM3 DSP modules, Cisco SRE service modules (up to two SM-type modules in a 3925) and EHWIC WAN and LAN interface cards. Internal AC, PoE and DC power supply options are available on the 3900 platform.
