Description

The Cisco 3925 UCS Express bundle combines a 3925 Integrated Services Router (ISR G2) with an x86 Services-Ready Engine blade (SRE 900 or SRE 910), SRE-V virtualisation and a 24-port Layer 2 PoE EtherSwitch service module. It suits multisite organisations with centralised IT that need to host applications locally in the branch office for performance, availability or compliance reasons, running multiple Windows Server and Linux virtual instances inside a single ISR G2 chassis.

This ES24 bundle pairs the router with a 24-port Layer 2 PoE EtherSwitch service module and a PoE power supply, along with 4 GB of ISR DRAM and 768 MB of ISR Compact Flash. The SRE 900 and SRE 910 blades use an Intel Core 2 Duo 1.86 GHz processor, 4 GB of DRAM by default (expandable to 8 GB), two 500 GB SATA drives with non-RAID, RAID 0 or RAID 1 options, and three Gigabit Ethernet ports. The bundle includes the SRE-V licence, which provides the VMware vSphere Hypervisor optimised for SRE blades, along with Cisco IMC Express for blade management.

It requires Cisco IOS Software Release 15.1(4)M for the multigigabit fabric backplane switch and IMC Express. The 3925 needs at least 2 GB of ISR DRAM and 256 or 512 MB of Compact Flash to run IMC Express.
