Description

The Cisco 2951 Integrated Services Router is a second-generation ISR G2 platform for mid-to-large branch offices that need routing, voice, VPN and firewall security in one 2RU chassis. This bundle adds Unified Communications and Security licence PAKs, a PVDM3-32 voice DSP and a Services Ready Engine module (SRE 700 or 710) for on-router application hosting.

The router provides three onboard 10/100/1000 Ethernet WAN ports, one of which is SFP-capable, along with four EHWIC slots (two double-wide), two service module slots (one double-wide), three onboard DSP slots and one ISM slot. Memory is 512 MB DDR2 ECC DRAM by default, expandable to 2 GB. Embedded hardware cryptography accelerates IPsec VPN, and the voice feature set supports 250 Cisco Unified SRST sessions and 150 CCME sessions. Power options are AC, PoE and DC, with Cisco RPS 2300 supported for redundancy.

The chassis accepts EHWIC and HWIC interface cards, PVDM3 DSP modules, SM and SM-X service modules, ISM modules and Compact Flash cards. The UC and SEC technology-package licences are included on the universal IOS image, while the Data and other technology packages are licensed separately.
