Description

The Cisco 2951 is a modular 2RU Integrated Services Router from the Cisco 2900 Series (ISR G2), built for branch offices and distributed enterprise sites that want routing, security, voice, video and WAN services consolidated in a single platform. This AX bundle pairs the 2951 hardware with the IP Base, Security and Application Experience (AppX) technology packages.

The 2951 provides three onboard 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet WAN ports, and one of them can use an SFP in place of its RJ-45. Expansion comes from four EHWIC slots (two double-wide EHWIC positions are possible), two service module slots with one double-wide, three onboard DSP (PVDM) slots and one ISM slot. It ships with 512 MB DDR2 ECC DRAM, expandable to 2 GB, and 256 MB of external Compact Flash, expandable to 4 GB. Embedded hardware encryption acceleration supports secure WAN connectivity, and the platform handles up to 250 Cisco Unified SRST sessions and 150 Cisco Unified CME sessions.

It uses a 100-240 VAC auto-ranging power supply, with PoE and DC options on the platform and support for an external Cisco RPS 2300. The chassis is 19-inch rack-mountable and runs the Cisco IOS Universal image, with technology packages activated by software licence.

Q: Which licences does the AX bundle include?
A: The AX bundle combines the IP Base, Security and Application Experience (AppX) technology packages on the Cisco IOS Universal image. Packages are activated by software licence.

Q: What interface cards and modules does it work with?
A: It supports EHWIC, HWIC and WIC interface cards, service modules including double-wide, SRE modules, ISM modules and PVDM DSP modules. One onboard Gigabit port can also use an SFP.

Q: Does it support PoE?
