Description

The ISR 2921 is a Cisco 2900 Series Integrated Services Router (ISR G2) supplied as a pre-configured voice and security bundle. It suits branch-office and small-to-medium business WAN edge deployments that need voice services such as SRST, CME and voice gateway alongside integrated security such as firewall, VPN and IPS.

The bundle combines the 2921 chassis with a PVDM3-32 DSP module for voice, conferencing and transcoding, plus the Unified Communications (UC) and Security (SEC) technology package licence PAKs. These allow the matching IOS feature sets to be activated on the router. The chassis provides 3 onboard 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet ports, 4 EHWIC slots, 3 onboard DSP (PVDM) slots and 1 ISM slot, in a 1 RU, 19-inch rack-mount form factor.

Memory is 512 MB DDR2 ECC DRAM by default, upgradeable to 2 GB with the MEM-2900 series upgrades. Storage options include dual CompactFlash slots supporting up to 4 GB each and 2 USB 2.0 Type A slots. The router runs from a 100-240 VAC auto-ranging supply, and the 2921 platform supports a 280 W internal PoE supply and a 750 W external PoE Boost.
