Description

The ISR 2911 bundle is a branch-office router from the Cisco 2900 Series ISR G2 range, built for enterprise sites that need secure WAN routing and WAN optimisation in a single 2RU chassis. It combines the 2911 router with an SRE 700 or SRE 710 service module, the Security (Sec) PAK licence and a Cisco WAAS Enterprise Small licence.

The chassis provides 3 onboard 10/100/1000 Ethernet WAN ports, 4 EHWIC slots, 2 onboard DSP (PVDM) slots, 1 ISM slot and 1 service module slot. Memory is 512 MB DDR2 ECC DRAM by default, expandable to 2 GB, with 256 MB of CompactFlash. Hardware-based VPN encryption and acceleration is built onto the motherboard. The Sec PAK activates the Security feature set, including IOS Firewall, Zone-Based Firewall, IPS, Content Filtering and IPsec VPN, while the SRE module hosts Cisco WAAS for application acceleration across the WAN.

The 2911 chassis accepts up to two SRE modules, one ISM-type and one service module type, and supports EHWICs and HWICs, PVDM DSP modules and an external redundant power supply. Voice features include Cisco Unified Border Element, CME and SRST for up to 50 sessions.
