Description

The Cisco ISR 2911 is a branch-office router from the 2900 Series Integrated Services Routers (ISR G2). It combines routing, voice, security and on-router application hosting in a single 2RU chassis, making it suited to branch sites that need secure WAN and VPN connectivity alongside survivable telephony.

This bundle is defined by its UC and SEC licence PAKs, an SRE 300 Services-Ready Engine module and a PVDM3-16 DSP. It provides three onboard 10/100/1000 RJ-45 WAN ports, four EHWIC slots (two double-wide), one service module slot for the SRE 300, one ISM slot and two onboard PVDM slots. Memory is 512 MB DDR2 ECC DRAM by default, expandable to 2 GB, with 256 MB of external Compact Flash by default, expandable to 4 GB. Embedded hardware-based encryption acceleration supports IPSec VPN, and the router can handle up to 50 Cisco Unified SRST or CCME sessions.

The chassis supports EHWIC, HWIC, VIC and VWIC modules, PVDM3 DSP modules and service modules. AC, PoE and DC power supply options are offered across the platform, and the external Cisco RPS 2300 can provide redundant power or PoE boost. It mounts in a 19 inch rack or on a wall.

A: It includes the Unified Communications (UC) and Security (SEC) technology package licence PAKs on the Universal IOS image. The Data licence (SL-29-DATA-K9) is a separate option.

A: The SRE 300 (ISM-SRE-300-K9) is a Services-Ready Engine that runs in the service module slot. It hosts Cisco, third-party and custom applications independently of the router CPU.
