Description

The 2911 Integrated Services Router from the Cisco 2900 Series ISR G2 family is a modular branch-office router. This bundle pairs the chassis with a Services Ready Engine 910 service module, a 16-channel PVDM3-16 voice and video DSP module, and the Unified Communications and Security technology-package licence PAK. It suits small and midsize branches that need secure WAN and VPN connectivity, voice and video gateway services, and on-router application hosting.

The chassis provides three onboard 10/100/1000 RJ-45 WAN ports, four EHWIC slots (two of them double-wide), two onboard PVDM DSP slots, one ISM slot and one service module slot, which this bundle fills with the SRE 910. The SRE 910 is built on an Intel Core2 Duo 1.86 GHz CPU with 4 GB of DRAM as standard and 8 GB as an option. Embedded hardware encryption acceleration supports IPSec VPN, concurrent services performance is up to 75 Mbps, and default memory is 512 MB DDR2 ECC DRAM. Voice survivability covers up to 50 Cisco Unified SRST and 50 CME sessions.

The UC and SEC licence PAK activates the Unified Communications and Security technology packages on the universal IOS image. IP Base is the default on every ISR G2, and the Data licence is separate and not part of this bundle. The router supports PVDM3 DSP modules, EHWICs, HWICs, VICs and VWICs, as well as service modules and 3G/4G WWAN options.

Q: How is the licensing activated?
A: The 2911 runs a single universal IOS image. The UC and SEC technology packages are activated on that image through Cisco software activation using the licence PAK.

Q: What power supply options does the 2911 support?
A: The standard internal AC supply is PWR-2911-AC. Options are PoE (PWR-2911-POE), DC (PWR-2911-DC) and DC-PoE (PWR-2911-DC-POE). An external RPS 2300 can be added through an RPS adapter for redundancy or PoE boost.

Q: What modules does it work with?
