Description

The ASR 1009-X is a 9RU modular edge router chassis from the Cisco ASR 1000 Series, built for WAN aggregation, secure WAN, Internet edge, data centre interconnect and Intelligent WAN deployments in medium and high-end enterprises and service provider PoPs. It runs Cisco IOS XE and supports Cisco SD-WAN.

The chassis provides up to 200 Gbps of total system bandwidth, up to 130 Mpps of packet-forwarding performance and up to 86 Gbps of IPsec throughput. It has 2 Embedded Services Processor slots and 2 Route Processor slots for hardware redundancy, plus 3 SIP or Ethernet line card slots rated at 200 Gbps each, 12 SPA slots and 6 EPA slots. Up to six AC or DC power supplies can be fitted with N+1 redundancy, and cooling is handled by three field-replaceable fan trays with front-to-back airflow. Throughput on the -X models is unlocked by software licence, and the platform supports Cisco DNA subscription licences and Smart Licensing.

The chassis accepts ASR1000-ESP100, ESP100-X, ESP200 and ESP200-X Embedded Services Processors, ASR1000-RP2 and RP3 route processors, ASR1000-MIP100 modules, SPAs and EPAs.
