Description

The ASR 1006 is a 6RU modular aggregation services router chassis from the Cisco ASR 1000 Series, built for service provider edge, WAN aggregation and enterprise edge deployments. It can also serve as a high-end route reflector. This -SB variant is the 6-slot chassis in the Security Bundle (-SB) configuration.

The chassis takes three SPA Interface Processors, giving twelve SPA slots in total, plus two Embedded Services Processors (ASR1000-ESP10, ESP20, ESP40 or ESP100). Route Processors, ESPs and power supplies can be installed redundantly, and the ASR 1006 supports hardware redundancy and in-service software upgrade (ISSU). Power is provided by dual AC or DC supplies, with a DC system input rating of 40 A on a 50 A breaker using AWG #6 wire.

Physically it is a 19-inch rack-mount unit measuring 10.45 in. high, 17.25 in. wide and 22.50 in. deep, weighing 77.1 lb when fully configured. It works with Cisco ASR 1000 Series SIPs, shared port adapters (SPAs), Route Processors and the ESP10 to ESP100 Embedded Services Processors.
