Description

The Cisco ASR 1006 Security HA Bundle is a modular aggregation services router from the ASR 1000 series, built for WAN edge and enterprise headend roles that need hardware-redundant security services. It suits IPsec VPN aggregation, embedded zone-based firewall deployments, managed CPE and service-provider edge work without separate service blades.

This bundle pairs two 10 Gbps ASR1000-ESP10 Embedded Services Processors with two ASR1000-RP1 Route Processors, giving 1+1 hardware redundancy for both forwarding and control. The RP1 modules ship with 4 GB of DRAM by default. One ASR1000-SIP10 SPA Interface Processor is included as a carrier card, and the 6RU chassis supports up to three SIPs and 12 SPA slots. It runs the SASR1R1-AESK9-21SR consolidated IOS XE package (Advanced Enterprise Services) with Right-To-Use licences for IPsec VPN, Firewall, NBAR plus FPM and IOS Software Redundancy.

I/O is built from Cisco Shared Port Adapters, so existing SPA investment can be reused. The ESP10 is also supported in the ASR 1002 and ASR 1004 chassis, and the ASR 1006 accepts ESP40 and ESP100 processors.
