Description

The ASR 1002-X is a 2RU fixed-configuration router from the ASR 1000 Series, built for WAN aggregation, enterprise WAN and internet edge, branch and data-centre interconnect, secure IPsec VPN termination and SD-WAN edge roles. The route processor, Embedded Services Processor and SPA Interface Processor are integrated in the chassis, so the platform stays compact.

This SKU ships with 5 Gbps of default ESP bandwidth, which can be raised to 10, 20 or 36 Gbps with software-activated upgrade licences and no hardware change. It provides 6 built-in Gigabit Ethernet SFP ports and 3 SPA slots, with 4 GB of DRAM shared across the route processor, ESP and SIP. Embedded hardware encryption delivers up to 4 Gbps of crypto throughput with 1400-byte packets, and software redundancy is supported within the single chassis. Dual power supplies are fitted by default, in an AC or DC configuration.

The SECK9 bundle adds the Security K9 (crypto/IPsec) feature set on Cisco IOS XE, with a minimum release of 3.7.0S. The 6 built-in SFP ports accept Cisco Gigabit Ethernet SFP optics, and the 3 SPA slots accept Cisco shared port adapters.
