Description

The ASR 1002-X is a 2RU WAN aggregation router from the Cisco ASR 1000 Series, built for branch and enterprise edge routing where encrypted VPN, zone-based firewall and QoS services are needed on one platform. The route processor, forwarding engine (ESP) and SIP are all integrated into the chassis.

This ASR1002X-5G-K9 bundle is the 5 Gbps throughput tier with K9 (AES/IPsec) crypto licensing. The chassis provides 6 built-in Gigabit Ethernet SFP ports and 3 SPA slots for modular WAN interface expansion. It has a quad-core route processor and 4 GB of DRAM shared across the route processor, ESP and SIP, and runs Cisco IOS XE with software redundancy. It supports Cisco Smart Licensing and Cisco DNA Advantage and DNA Premier subscriptions.

The ASR 1002-X takes up to 3 shared port adapters. Route processor, ESP and SIP cards are integrated, so no separate cards are used. There is no built-in 10 Gigabit Ethernet port on this model.
