Description

The ASR 1002-X is a fixed-configuration 2RU WAN aggregation router from the Cisco ASR 1000 series. It integrates the route processor, forwarding engine and SIP in the chassis, which suits it to enterprise WAN edge, branch and campus aggregation, Internet edge, SD-WAN headend and IPsec VPN termination roles.

This SKU is the 5 Gbps throughput HA bundle with the K9 crypto (AES) software package. It provides 6 built-in Gigabit Ethernet SFP ports and 3 SPA slots, with a quad-core integrated route processor and 4 GB of default DRAM shared across the route processor, ESP and SIP. Redundancy is handled through redundant IOS XE software instances, so no additional hardware module is needed. The chassis uses a dual power supply design.

Throughput is licence-based, so capacity can later be raised to 10, 20 or 36 Gbps with the FLSA1-2X-5-10G, FLSA1-2X-5-20G or FLSA1-2X-5-36G upgrade licences. Memory options include M-ASR1002X-4GB, 8GB and 16GB, and an optional 320GB hard drive (MASR1002X-HD-320G) is available. The last supported software release is IOS XE 17.9.
