Description

The ASR 1002-X is a compact 2RU aggregation services router from the Cisco ASR 1000 Series. It integrates the route processor, forwarding engine and SPA interface processor in a single chassis, which suits enterprise WAN and Internet edge, VPN and branch aggregation, and managed services deployments where rack space matters.

This SKU is the 36G performance bundle with the Security (SECK9) feature set. The chassis provides 6 built-in Gigabit Ethernet SFP ports and 3 SPA slots, with a quad core route processor and 4 GB of default DRAM shared across the route processor, forwarding engine and interface processor. Dual AC or DC power supplies and software redundancy with redundant IOS XE instances support high availability. The SECK9 designation denotes the security-enabled crypto feature set, covering IPsec encryption and the embedded Zone-Based Policy Firewall handled in the Flow Processor.

The built-in SFP ports accept SFP optics, and the SPA slots take shared port adapters to expand WAN and LAN connectivity.
